About Île aux Bénitiers
Île aux Bénitiers is a 65 hectar large, uninhabitant island, in the district of Black River, in the Southwest of Mauritius. The island has a length of 2 km and is, at its widest point, around 500m wide. The island consists of coral sand and is located 500m off the coast of La Gaulette.
During the last decades, Île aux Bénitiers has become a popular destination for tourists, who spend their time on the island, as part from numerous excursions.
Today’s appearance is characterized by different souvenir traders and multiple resting places, covered with colored tarpaulins.
